What is a Panchang?

Panchang (Sanskrit: पञ्चाङ्ग, “five limbs”) is the traditional Hindu calendar summary for a day. The five limbs are usually vara (weekday), tithi (lunar day), nakshatra (lunar mansion), yoga, and karana. Tithi is counted in Shukla (waxing) or Krishna (waning) paksha.

Times here use the same open-source calculator as our homepage widget: @bidyashish/panchang. In the browser, Swiss Ephemeris is not available, so values are approximate (fallback math). For publication-grade tables, compare with your preferred almanac or a drik-ganita source.
